Show LOCAL EMPLOYMENT OFFICE ASSISTS IN DEFENSE JOBS The Treston office of the Idaho State Employment Service today announced that an intensive effort will be made to find out by April 15, how many1 "workers in this community com-munity are available for national defense jobs. To carry out this project, Tom Boyle, manager of the local employment em-ployment office urges the immediate immedi-ate registration of; (1) All those in Preston and its vicinity who are unemployed un-employed and capable of holding jobs, and; (2) All those employed persons in the vicinity who have had experience in the following trades but whose present employment employ-ment does not utilize the skills of j these trades: In aircraft manufacturing, manufac-turing, airplane sheet metal wot Iters, It-ers, airplane woodworkers, aeronautical aero-nautical engineers, and inspectors; loftsmen, boatbuilders, ship filters, in shipbuilding, ship carpenters, caulkers, and marine machinists; in machine shops and machinery manufacturing, machinists, tool makers, die makers, lathe operators and tool designers. The employment service does not encourage or desire workers who are employed in any of the above industries to register. The call for registration of worit-ers worit-ers in this locality is part of a coordinated national progr being be-ing carried out this month through all state employment services, Mr. Boyle said. He explained that the gearing of American industry to building for defense has progressed so far that in certain trades a shortage of workers may develop in the near future. "For this reason," rea-son," he said, "there is an urgent need to have every available woik-er woik-er registered." "This does not mean," he stated, "that all of those who register with the Preston office of-fice of the State employment service ser-vice can expect Jobs immediately. The local office is located at Preston and serves residents, not only of Preston but Malad as well. 1 |
