Smith, county supervisor of the Franklin County Department of Public Assistance, in an interview inter-view urged today that all persons interested in social welfare problems, prob-lems, whether they be lay or professional, pro-fessional, persons, attend the Idaho State conference of Social Work in Lewlston, April 20, 21 and 22. Mr. Smith stated that the purpose of a conference of this kind is to promote the closest possible cooperation coop-eration of all individuals and organizations organ-izations interested in any form of social work and in the social welfare wel-fare problems of Idaho, with the hoi e that through united planning and cooperation these problems might be solved. He further stated that the first Idaho conference last year, and other state conferences are proving valuable in interpreting interpret-ing the social welfare needs to the people on a state-wide basis. Mr. Smith said he could not over-, emphasize the importance of the need for as many persons who could possibly spare the time to attend the meetings, as there are many problems of social importance in Tdaho that need interpreting and many problems that need to be faced and solved. It is through such a state conference that Idaho hopes to coordinate its needs and to plan to cope with its problems. |
