Lem-mon. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lemmon, and Phillip Eugene Bergeson of Lewiston, Utah, took place in the Logan L. D. S. temple October 2. Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's grandmother, grandmoth-er, Mrs. James Smart, to close relatives re-latives and friends of the couple They left immediately for a "rief wedding trip to the parks of southern south-ern Utah. They will make then home at Lewiston. The bride-elect has been the motif, for several parties in honor of the occasion. Her sister, Mrs. Ralph Morgan, entertained at a kitchen shower and the lady clerks of the J. C. Penney store entertained entertain-ed at a dinner and social. BRIDE-ELECT HONORED AT PARTY SUNDAY Wedding rings, cleverly arranged announced the engagement anu approaching marriage of Miss Sylvia Hatch to Glenn Petterborg at a party given by Miss Winona Green at the home of Mrs. Jennie Boyle on Sunday, September 29 A three-course dinner was served to twelve close friends of the bride elect. Miss Edna Palmer received first prize and Miss Zelda Dunkley second at the table games which followed dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Butters and daughter, LaNea, visited in Morgan, Utah, last Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Thomas Geary who has been in Morgan for the past three weeks returned to her home with them. Mrs. Larsen entertained at a well appointed trousseau tea last Wednesday afternoon in honor ot the bride-elect. Assisting her in receiving were Meredith and Mrs. Hall. ENTERTAINS FRIDAY FOR VISITOR FROM HAWAII Mrs. Ray Bright entertained Friday Fri-day afternoon at dinner and bridge in honor of Mrs. Roy Emery who has been visiting in Preston for some time. Score prizes were won by Mrs. Harvey Bickmore and Mrs. Frank McAlister. Mrs. Emery left Tuesday morning morn-ing for the Northwest where she will visit for some time before leaving for her home in Hawaii. She has been a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. McClellan. Mrs McClellan and Mrs Emery are daughter Fern Naef Sunday, September Sep-tember 29, from 2 to 7 p. m. Lovely Love-ly fall flowers, decorated the home throughout. In the receiving line were Mrs. Orsen Nelson, Mrs. Delia Crockett and Miss Naef. Mrs. Blanche Christensen, sister of the bride, had charge of the gifts and Miss Blanche Larsen, Bister Bis-ter of the groom, was in charge of the trousseau room. Mrs. Vesta Coburn, Mrs. Ada Taylor, and Mrs. Alta Moser were in charge of tht dining room with Lora Hansen and Verna Naef assisting as-sisting them. Approximately 125 called to extend ex-tend well-wishes. Miss Naef left last Saturday, October Oc-tober 5, for California where she will meet Eldon Lars Larsen. They will be married in California. LO PINE CAMP ENTERTAINED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON LoPine camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers was entertained last Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. Pearl Gaymon. 'Pioneer Houses and Homes" was the lesson presented pre-sented by Mrs. Winnie Ni,elson. Miss Lillian Weaver sang two solos and Miss Mary Lou Weaver pleased pleas-ed with two dramatic readings. MOTHER HONORS TWIN DAUGHTERS ON BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY Mrs. Thomas Preston entertained at a birthday luncheon Wednesday afternoon in the new Club cafe for her twin daughters' birthday anniversary. anni-versary. SHERWIN WEBB HONORED AT PARTY Club associates and a few invited in-vited friends of Mrs. Sherwin Webb surprised her Thursday evening at her home. The occasion was a fare, well party before she leaves to make her home at Bosie. A luncheon lunch-eon was served at small tables followed by bridge. High score was won by Mrs. Edris Larson. A gift of remembrance was presented to the honor guest. ENTERTAINS AT CARD T ARTY AND LUNCHEON Mrs. Harold Pinson entertained Thursday evening at a card paty for six guests. Luncheon was served at the Club eafe after which pinochle was played at the home of the hostess. Score awards went to Mrs. Bill Hansen and Mrs. Cy Hurd. Ezra T. Benson of Washington, D. C, visited at the home of Eari Weaver Tuesday. ENTERTAIN PINOCHLE CLUB AT DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Scott Dunlop entertained en-tertained their pinochle crab last Friday evening. Dinner was served at 7:30 for twelve. A profusion of automn flowers decorated the rooms. EMMA DAVIS HONORED ON BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY Mrs. Emma Davis was honored last Thusday when eight former MIA stake board associates met at her home to celebrate her birthday birth-day anniversary. The evening was spent in sociability. Light refreshments refresh-ments were served. LOCAL DUP OFFICERS ATTEND SALT LAKE MEET County officers of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers who attended the convention of the Central company com-pany at the Hotel Utah at Salt Lake City last Saturday were Hat-tie Hat-tie Wallgren, Ella Hull, Alice Petterborg, Pet-terborg, Lettie Condie, Maggie Preston, Nancy Jones, and Jennie Swainston. Sessions were held at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. with President Ida Kirkham presiding The year's work was reviewed. Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin Webb will leave in the near future to make "their home at Boise. Mr. Webb has been associated with Willis Hendricks Hend-ricks in Preston and will have charge of a mortuary at Boise. i |
