Show Winners Announced In Grid Contest Richard. Carlson was the toast of Franklin county football prognosti-cators prognosti-cators last week as he won the first weekly Clarion football scoring scor-ing contest by getting eleven out of the twelve games played correct and by coming within two points of getting the score of the starred game correct. He guessed the score to be 13-7 and the final score was 12-6. Two others demonstrated, they really know their football when they scored eleven out of twelve right but missed the score of the starred game seven points. These second place winners were Marcel Chattel-ton, captain of the Preston High grid team this year and Keith Merrill, regular guard on the Preston Pres-ton High team a few years back. Carlson will receive the first place award of two dollars and one free theatre ticket. Chatterton and Merrill will each receive two free theatre tickets. ' The next five place winners in order who will each receive one free theatre ticket are Earl Weaver, H B Sternberg, Neldon Wilde, Ken Coburn. and DeMar Rasmus, sen The first four each guessed ten' out of the twelve correctly , while Rasmussen scored nine out of twelve right but had the score of the game correct. Three others scored nine out of twelve correctly correct-ly but the difference in score pre-, pre-, vented them from being winners. This week another new contest has been announced with the University Uni-versity of Utah-Utah Aggie game headlining the list. Entry blanks on this (contest will not have to I be handed in until 12 noon Friday, October IS. Last week's winners who have not as yet received their awards may get them by calling at the Clarion office on West Oneida. |
