Refreshments were served by Dorothy Larsen, Vale&a Evans and Zola Mae Phip- pen. About seventy girls attended and reported a good time. HALLOWE'EN MARKS RA ONA CLUB MEET In a setting of ghosts, black cats and autumn flowers, the RaOna club members and several invited guests were entertained last Friday Fri-day evening by Mrs. R. B. Gibson. A large bowl of chrysanthemums on a table reflector centered the long table at which fifteen guests were seated for the hot dinner served at 7:30 o'clock. Hallowe'en favors and place cards marked each place. Following dinner bridge was the diversion. Score prizes were awarded to Mjrs. Llewellyn Llew-ellyn Jenkins, high, and Mrs. T. K. Greaves, low. Miss Beulah Spongberg left on Tuesday for Baltimore, Maryland, where she has accepted a secretarial secre-tarial position with the Civil Service Ser-vice department. Miss Spongberg is the daughter of Mrs. Grace Spongberg of Preston. She has been employed for the past four years in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Erwin Spilsbury is enjoying an extended visit in Salt Lake City. She and her sister, Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph M. Dean, were joint 'hostesses last week at a luncheon in honor of their sister, Miss Laura Callis a bride-elect. ' PRESTON CUBS TO PRESENT 3-ACT PLAY The management of the Preston Cubs baseball team has announced that in the near future they -rll present a thtlee-act pla,y directei by Claude Hawkes, well-known local lo-cal director and former school teacher who has had much experience experi-ence in directing plays for the city schools and civic organizations. The proceeds will go into a fund for the purchase ot new suits and equipment for the team next year. They also announce that plans are going forward for the promoting of a boxing card here sometime in November. |
