Show o o COUNCIL DISCUSSES PARKING PROBLEMS The problem of parking on city streets was discussed and tentative tenta-tive steps taken to solve the prob lem at a meeting of city council last Monday evening. A delegation from the merchants' committee of the Chamber of Commerce met with the council. The merchants' committee requested re-quested that the present parking ordinance be abolished. No action was taken on the request, but the mayor' and council' orrered full support sup-port if 100 per cent cooperation of the merchants and their employees works out satisfactorily. Thei city agreed to police these areas on busy days. Stores are urged to become "back door" conscious, and have fligna placed so that deliveries may be made at the rear of the store. |
