The Relief Soci.ety women met in department work. One of the most interesting feature was the scrap book from which they exchanged ideas on early pioneer history. Miss Wilma Harris, daughter of Frank Harris, spent the week end home visiting friends and rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin McGregor from Ogden, Utah, were week-end visitors with their parents Mr. and Mrs. D. W. McGregor. The Y. W. and Y.M.M.I.A. con- vention held at Bancroft was well " attended by Mound Valley people who reported a it very successful. Helpful instructions were given to all attending. Mr. and Mrs. C. O. McGregor and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Anderson will leave for Maine Tuesday morning morn-ing to visit their sister, Leora. They expect to be gone about three weeks as they intend visiting a number of historical points. Whooping cough and mumphs are detrimental to school attendance attend-ance in our vicinity. The 4-H girls who exhibited canning can-ning at the Portland fair are very proud of their winnings. Joyce Tanter received a blue ribbon on canned fruits, LuWana Adams a red ribbon on canned meats ana Margaret McGregor a white ribbon on canned vegetables. The Mound Valley opening MIA social will be held Tuesday, October Oc-tober 2S. Those who attend may . wear Hallowe'en costume and a prize will be given for the best. After the program, refreshments will be served and then there will be a dance. o o |
