"BERLIN DIARY," REVIEWED BY CLUB Meeting at the home of Mrs. Harley Greaves, Literary club ladies la-dies enjoyed an interesting review of William L. Shirer's book, "Berlin "Ber-lin Dairy," given by Mrs. W. D. Mc-Clellan. Mc-Clellan. Two piano selections were rendered ren-dered by Mrs. George Paull and refreshments were served to twenty twen-ty members by Mrs- Greaves. RETIRING STAKE OFFICERS FETED AT SOCIAL A social honoring Mrs. Norene Warr and other former Oneida stake Primary board officers was given Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Charles Olsen. Donna Noyes supervised the evenings eve-nings entertainment and a tray luncheon was served following the social hour. Other officers who are retiring from the board include Anna Mc Queen, Esther Smith and Ellen Gibson. Gib-son. STUDY CLUB HELD AT GAMBLE HOME Mrs. Glen Gamble entertained Friday for members of the Study club. Nine members heard the lesson presented by Mrs. Garland Kidd. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. BRIDGE LUNCHEON FOR BOO MALIE LADIES Decorations in keeping with the Hallowe'en season marked the bridge social of the Boo Malie club Friday evening when they met at the home of Mrs. Homer Johnson. Special guests of Mrs. Johnson ! were Mrs. Leora Worley and Mrs. Ida Cutler. Luncheon was served at one lonf, table by the hostess and was followed fol-lowed by an evening of bridge. Mrs. Lavenia Cutler won high score and Mrs. Emma McClun the all-cut prizes. DINNER PARTY FOR FRIENDS VISITING HOME Honoring three girl friends who spent the week-end from their schooling, Twila Smith and Donna Forsgren of the BYU and Georgia Tanner of Albion, Mrs. Halo Hart entertained Saturday evening at a dinner. Gay jack-o-lanterns and Halloween Hallo-ween favors were used as appoint- WORK ON HOBBIES MARKS T AND H CLUB MEETING Travel and Hobby club ladies spent Wednesday afternoon at the , home of Mrs. Wells McEntire where work on perconal hobbies was enjoyed. Invited as guest speaker of the meeting Miss Virginia Merrill displayed dis-played her hobby, a scrapbook of modern poetry and read several poems. Mrs. Jennie Swainston presented her hobby of music by giving two piano solos. Fifteen ladies, including Miss Merrill, Mrs. Grace' Gamble and Mrs. Donna Noyes as special guests were served a dainty repast by Miss Virginia McEntire. Hallowe'en decorations were used as a seasonal season-al setting. CANTATA MARKS HIGH ACHIEVEMENT With the ocal music lovers still clamoring for a second rendition of the cantata "Evangeline," the Charmaids chorus, and their director, direc-tor, Mrs. Elda Carlson, are basking bask-ing in the uplifting satisfaction which comes with a task well done. Placing the beauty of achievement achieve-ment above the cost, the cast has personally born the expense of production, including the hiring of a hall, and contributed it to the public free of charge; 4 Because of the local appreciation being voiced for this cantata, another an-other performance for the adult public will be made at the Preston Fourth ward chapel next Thursday, November 6. The musical will commence promptly at S p. m. Already requests are being received re-ceived from surrounding cities for guest performances. The first invitation in-vitation to be accepted by the girls and their leader will be next week at Logan. They will be the guests of the Logan Fourth ward. BOOK REVIEW PRESENTED AT FINE ARTS CLUB Mrs. Maurine Simmons presented present-ed a review of the book, "Mrs. Minivers," by, Janice Struthers, at the Monday meeting of the Fine Arts club. Mrs. Ha Oilsen was hostess to the lady members and the following follow-ing special guests: Miss Lucille Peterson, Logan; Miss Bea Dolan, Franklin; Mrs. Donna Noyes, Mrs. Clara Bickmore, Mrs. Beatrice Swainston, Mrs. Virginia Holton and Mrs. C.
