Show Caretaker Dies Monday Night Death came to John Bessley Oliverson, 69, pioneer operator of the electric power plant in Cub river, Sunday night following a heart attack at his home. Funeral services .were conducted at Frank, lin Wednesday and burial was in the Franklin cemetery. Mr. Oliverson began as operator of the Cub River plant in 1907 when it was first .established by the High Creek Electric company whose headquarters were in Richmond, Rich-mond, rt was from here that Preston's settlers and others in nearby communities received their first supply of electricity. Although luter taken over by the Utah Power Pow-er and Light company the Cub River plant has remained under the ctiRtody of Mr. Oliverson. The entire life of Mr. Oliverson has been spent in Franklin and Cub river with the exception of the years between 1930 and 1938 when he was transferred by the company to their plant In Provo. James and Caroline Roberts Oliverson, Oli-verson, parents of Mr. Oliverson, were members of the first group to settle in Franklin and it was here he was born on February 22, 1S72. He married Rebecca Biggs in 1S95 and later was sealed to her in the Logan Temple. He is survived by his widow and the following children: John Vet lion of Franklin; Elbert of Preston; Pres-ton; Hazel Glassburu, Blackt'oot; Verda Nelson, Gleiulale; Delia Allred, Preston; Carolyn Avers, Los Angeles; Jane Crane, Provo, Vera Sorenson, Axtel, Utah. One brother, Levi Oliverson resides in Franklin; three sisters are Mrs. Harriet Bodily, Hurley; Mrs. Jean-ette Jean-ette Cutler. Messa, Arizona; and Mrs. Matilda Robinson, Los Angeles. An-geles. There are nine grandchildren. |
