Show POPPY DAY TO BE HELD ON MAY 28 Veterans of Foreign Wars And American Legion Auxiliaries Sponsor Day's Program. Charming Logan young ladies will appear on the streets of Logan Lo-gan on Saturday morning, May 28, having in hand a large number of handsomely made poppies for sale to the local citizenry. The above date has been designated as Pop- py ' Day and the program for the sale of the poppies is in the hands , of Mrs. Arthur LaBeau, president of the V F W auxiliary, assisted by Mrs. William C. Jensen; Mrs. . O. W. Pedersen, president of the American " Legion auxiliary and ' assisted by Mrs. Cliff E. Dunn, chairman of the Poppy Day conn- . mittee. Funds from the sale of the poppies will be given to disabled veterans of former wars. The move has been given the endorsement of President Roosevelt as the following letter indicates: Commander-in-Chief, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the " United States, Washington, D.C. My Dear Commander: Every orphan deserves a chance 4 for - happiness - equal to that en- -joyed by the average American child. This opportunity is given the orphans " of veterans by the V. F. W. National Home, at Eaton Rapids, Michigan, maintained by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
