Show Cache Stake Relief Society Anniversary j A most interesting and successful . social event sponsored by the. Cache Stake Relief Society board: was the seventieth annual stake j aninversary and hobby show heldj Tuesday, May 17th at 2 p. m. in j the Fourth ward meeting house with Counselor Sophia W. Cardon presiding and conducting. A very high typed program consisting of an address of welcome by Coun. Louise R. Rich; songs; readings; and pipe organ soJo. A feature of the program was the community singing of our, , Relief Society theme song, "One Hundred Thousand Thous-and Strong". Short talks were given by President Joseph E. Cardon Car-don and Mrs. Lucy S. Cardon, our 86-year-old past Cache Stake Relief Re-lief Society president and a charter char-ter member of the board which ' was organized in Cache Valley in 1868. She is still a very enthusiastic enthus-iastic and faithful member ater seventy years- of membership and service. After the benediction to our delightful de-lightful program by Bishop O. A. Sonne, the women adjourned to, the amusement hall to enjoy the hobby show. The show was outstanding in the quality and also quantity of( beautiful handicraft. The display, consisted of silk quilts, crochet! and knitted bed spreads, and table covers, dresses, aprons, flowers,) embroidered pillow cases, Jiunch-: eon cloths, cushions and all kinds of bric-a-bracs, useful as well ornamental. Punch and wafers were served from a table toeauti-fully toeauti-fully decorated with a cluny !&ce cover with a center: piece of yellow yel-low tulips and blue iris. The Re- Kef Society colors. Blue tapers ini crystal holders at either end. Two hundred and seventy-five j women enjoyed the program and! show.despite the unusualy stormy weather. |
