Show Mayor Lundstrom Issues Poppy Day Proclamation Saturday, May 28th, was proclaimed "POPPY DAY" in Logan City, in a proclamation procla-mation issued Friday by Mayor Ma-yor A. G. Lundstrom. The proclamation urged all citizens citi-zens to honor the World War dead and the war's living victims by wearing The American Am-erican Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, and The Veteran of Foreign Wars and The Vetean of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Memoial Poppy that day. The proclamation reads: ,- . . - PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, in the World War Of 1917-1918 the young men of Logan Lo-gan City, Cache County, State of Utah, gave their service to the defense of the United States in an exalted spirit of patriotism and some were called upon to sacrifice their lives in that servi:e: WHEREAS, many others were called upon to sacrifice health and strength, with resulting suffering and hardships to themselves and families which continue to this day: WHJiKiiAa, .tne memory ot tnese patriotic sacrifices should ever be kept fresh in the minds of patriotic patrio-tic citizens, while fullest aid should be extended to those still within the reach of human aid: AND, WHEREAS, the wearing of the Memorial Poppy both honors hon-ors the dead and aids the disabled dis-abled and dependents. THEREFORE, I, A. G. LUNDSTROM, LUND-STROM, Mayor of the City of Logan, Lo-gan, Cache County State of Utah, do hereby proclaim Saturday, May 28th 1938, POPPY DAY in the City of Logan, Cache County, State of Utah, and urge all citi-! citi-! zens to observe the day by wear-Jing wear-Jing The American Legion and Am-erican Am-erican Legion Auxiliary Memorial Poppy, and The Veteran of Foreign For-eign Wars, and Veteran of Foreign For-eign Wars Auxiliary Memorial Poppy. LEGION AUXILIARY MAPS PROGRAM Preparations for the observance of Poppy Day, Saturday May 28 are being completed by the Ameri-! Ameri-! can Legion Auxiliary, Logan unit. Mrs. W. O. Pedersen, unit presi-I presi-I dent, announced Friday. Arrangements Arrange-ments are being directed by Mrs. la. E. Dunn, chairman of the Pop-j Pop-j py Day committee, assisted by a ' large oorp of workers from the unit. Plans are being developed to distribute memorial poppies in I every part of the city.
