Show On The Job Again For some time past there has been considerable comment in Cedar about depression hard times and unemployment It is true there has been a little depression and a few people hereabout have had hard times through the winter and there has beets beeh some un unemployment But nul the conditions here in Cedar are nothing as compared with conditions in other parts of Utah Recently the editor of the Record made a trip north through the State and on that trip took particular notice of conditions in several towns and cities For instance in Juab there has been and is now more unemployed unemployed played men that has been known for several years Farmers who raised wheat on the Levan Bench did not receive more than half the usual price for last falls fall's crop which meant that not enough money was Wag secured to pay operating expenses In Inthe the ea eastern tern part county labor county labor has been at a stand still stin Very little building has been done for the past year and carpenters carpenters carpenters carpen carpen- plumbers and common laboring men have necessarily been idle the greater part of the time Among the plumbers the situation situation situation situa situa- tion seems to have been worse than with other laborers Their wages have been materially reduced and they are able to only get about three full fun days in per week This condition maintains in other towns of northern Utah with but little in sight to relieve the situation No Cedar has not felt the depression nearly so keenly as have other cities of the state And the small depression that has existed existed existed ex ex- ex- ex isted is rapidly being overcome The unemployed are beginning to to get on the job again And there is considerable labor that is is coming up soon that will necessitate the employing of every man able to work The people of Cedar are fortunate and the outlook for prospects prospects pros pros- for them is very bright |
