It gives the people the chance to choose their candidates-for office instead of having to accept the "slate" made by a ' political machine. q 2 ECONOMIC SECURITY There should be adequate allowance to the old people. With proper economy and careful management it is not necessary to cut their pension. 3r-T AX ATION Modify tax processes to make taxes more nearly fair to farmers, to business, and to home owners. 4 NATURAL RESOURCES The state natural resources should be conserved and developed devel-oped for the benefit of this State. Shut out Wall Street. 5 LABOR . Pass laws favorable to labor and to the common people. Mr. Peterson supported the labor program in the 1937 session of the legislature. 6 EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY All the children of all the people should have equal opportunity oppor-tunity for education. - ) 7 HIGHER EDUCATION AND THE COLLEGE Mr. Peterson was chairman of the House Committee on Education last session. Also a member of the Appropria-' tions Committee. He thus helped provide the College with ) "the best appropriation it has had for years. r 8 THE NEW DEAL Mr. Peterson stands 100 per cent for the President and the New Deal. ' 9 LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE Mr. Peterson has had legislative experience.
