Show BABY CHICKS I GIVE SIGNS OFSPRING First Hatch of Season Reported Re-ported Today at Local U. S. Certified Hatch-' ery. Baby chicks, the first hatch of the season, were reported at the Intermountain Hatchery, 42 North First west street today by Hamlin Ham-lin Smith, manager. The hatch included 1700 baby chicks all from certified eggs. Mr. Smith stated' that this wasthe best early hatch that he had ever turned out in his twelve years of hatchery experience. ex-perience. The chicks were peppy and there was a high percentage of fertility among the eggs. The local U. S. Certified hatchery has an excellent plant at its new location. It has ideal conditions for hatching and brooding baby chicks. When the plant is put to full capacity ca-pacity it will turn out 8000 chicks a week. In addition it will handle turkey eggs this season and expects ex-pects to be able to sell at least 50 poults per week. When the remodeling at the new hatchery has been completed, it will have a swell front office, a room for sexing chicks along with a large brooder. |
