Show I Many Foreigners Attending B.Y.U. The Brigham Young university has spread its influence over a greater area than ever before, according to Registrar John E. Hayes, who released releas-ed the final compilations for the winter win-ter quarter's enrollment for the same qaurter last year. The total enrollment enroll-ment of 1400 exceeds the enrollment for the same quarter last year. Eighteen states are represented and five foreign: countries, Japan, New Zealand, Tongan Islands, Canada and Mexico. Of the 199 cities and towns represented, 112 are in Utah. Fifty-three Fifty-three per cent of the enrollment is from Utah county. Provo leads the county with a total of 442 students and American Fork runs a close second sec-ond with 72 students. Springville has 64 and Spanish Fork 63. Pleasant brove and rayson nave aroppea to 41 and 26, respectively. Idaho leads the surrounding states with a total of 93 students and 35 cities represented, while Arizona is second with 30 students. Of the different colleges, the arts and sciences has the greatest enrollment enroll-ment with 465, and commerce second with 306. Education has enrolled 256, applied science has 190, fine arts with 117, and the graduate school totals 56. The male enrollment exceeds that of the female by 224, the final count being 812 men and 588 women. |
