Show Causa of Bitter Milk Bitter milk is usually sweet when milked but turns bitter in 12 hours or so. This is caused by a lipase and the j remedy is to heat the milk to boiling or to 145 degrees F. for 30 minutes and then cool it. When a cow has garget the small particles of curdy milk will appear on the milk strainer. This should receive re-ceive immediate attention as garget may prove to be a plague in the herd and it Is apt to be contagious, so that it Is like playing with fire to let it go unnoticed. The best thing to do Is to either get rid of the cow or get In touch with a veterinarian. Dakota Farmer. |
