Show I LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. George Last and Garth Last, who have been absent for the past three weeks at Lewiston, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Stock, parents par-ents of Mrs. Last, returned to their home in Gunnison Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Morgan, who spent last week-end in Gunnison visiting vis-iting with relatives, returned to their home at Provo Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Baine Fountain were here from Manti Tuesday. They were visitors at the home of Mrs. Nina Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Mahnsten of Richfield, were, dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Whitten-burg Whitten-burg last Sunday. Edwin Larsen, E. J. Erickson and Austin Larsen were business visitors at Salt Lake City Monday and Tuesday Tues-day of this week. ' Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Pierce have returned from a visit to Salt Lake. They were called there on account of the illness of their daughter, Mrs. A. L. Crawford. Mrs. Crawford recently submitted to an operation for tumor trouble and the removal of the appendix. ap-pendix. She is recovering nicely. Under the auspices of the Gunnison Gunni-son Primary presidency, a social was Tiven Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Chas. Rasmussen. One hundred hun-dred per cent of the officers were present and an enjoyable time was had. Progressive rook and an 11 o'clock luncheon were features of the evening. Twelve guests were present. F. H. Jones and Mrs. James Bown motored to Richfield Tuesday. They were on a combined business and pleasure trip. Misses Aleda Christiansen and Billy Bil-ly Peterson were Mayfield visitors Sunday. They were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mortenson were host and hostess to eight friends last Saturday evening at a progressive progres-sive rook party. Following the card play dainty refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Whittenburg delightfully entertained at a seven o'clock dinner party Saturday evening for tw3nty guests. The small dinner tables were aglow with beautiful cut flowers and potted plants were attractively at-tractively arranged about the living and dining room. Progressive bridge and solo were features of the evening, eve-ning, and in the bridge contest prizes were awarded to Mrs. R. B. Metcalf and Mrs. John Metcalf. Mrs. June Metcalf spent Monday evening visiting friends and relatives at Ephraim. During the evening she attended the musical class, which was under the direction of Prof. Reginald Beales of the McCune school of music. if Mr. and Mrs. George Larsen of Salt Lake, were Saturday and Sunday Sun-day guests at the Edwin Larsen home. Wednesday evening Mr. and Mrs. June Metcalf, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mortensen Mor-tensen and Mr . and Mrs. Hjrrum Christiansen, staged a pleasant surprise sur-prise at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Willardson.
