Show Gunnison Girl Wins Recognition Joyce Tierce of Gunnison, a student stu-dent at the University of Utah, received re-ceived a congratulatory card from the t scholarship committee of the University Uni-versity in recognition of her high scholastic record for the autumn quarter. Cards were sent by the committee com-mittee only to those students whoe averages were better than a B, who were undergraduate students and ' who were registered for at least 12 quarter hours of work. Honor students for the autumn quarter number 369, or a little more than ten per cent of the total enrollment. enroll-ment. Many of these are active in other phases of college life besides scholastic pursuits. The scholastic committee interviewed interview-ed four hundred students who were low in scholarship. Of these, 58 were not permitted to register for the winter quarter. None of these were first of fenders and v so none- were freshmen. All of those who were dropped had very low averages for at least the past two quarters. Most of these may be permitted to register at tha University again after the end of the present quarter. |
