Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. Chas. Rasmussen spent Monday Mon-day of this week visiting with relatives rela-tives at Ephraim. Mrs. G. M. Kelly of Salt Lake, is here for a week's stay. She is visiting visit-ing with here sisters, Mrs. Kimbal Larsen and Mrs. Wesley Duggins. Jay Tollestrup, Blain Larson, Rulon Mansfield and Reed Stubbs were auto 'cruis.'ng" Saturday. Reuben Howard, former superintendent superin-tendent of the Gunnison Sugar company, com-pany, was greeting friends in Gunnison Gunni-son the first of the week Mr. and Mrs. Niel Sorenson, who recently removed to Salt Lake, spent last week-end in Gunnison. They were here on a combined business and pleasure trip. , Mrs. Daisy Jensen and son, Golden, of Milford, were Gunnison visitors Tuesday. Golden continued his jour- ney to Salt Lake and Wednesday The Junior prom will be held Friday Fri-day and Saturday, March 13 and 14, at the Gunnison high auditorium. The hall will represent a Holland Garden. Everyone is invited to attend. J. M. Knighton, president of the Gunnison Irrigation company, was a business visitor to Salt Lake last week-end. He was accompanied by Mrs. Knighton and - they returned ! home Sunday evening. ' Miss Amelia Buckley of Provo accompanied ac-companied Mrs. Gladys Nielsen at the visitation of the dinner-banquet giv-' giv-' n by the Gunnison Business and Professional Womens club Saturday evening. Miss Buckley was the guest of Miss Margaret Finnell. Mrs. L. Ludvigson, who spent the past month visiting at Huntington Park, Los Anpeles and other Southern South-ern California points of interest, returned re-turned to her home in Gunnison Tuesday. She was accompanied by her nephew, Farland Nielsen, and the latter lat-ter expects to remain here indefinitely. J morning Mrs. Jensen and Calvin Jensen, Jen-sen, returned to Milford. June Metcalf, chairman of the board of county commissioners, and t Bishop Leslie Kidman, went to Salt ' Lake Tuesday. During j the evening a social time, interspersed i with music, was enjoyed. m Roberta Malmgren, a senior at the Gunnison Valley high school, was chosen winner of an oratorical contest con-test held at the high school recently. The judges of the contest were Royal Roy-al Whitlock, Attorney C. M. Edwards and John E. Metcalf. This contest was sponsored by the Businc-jsaild Pro- j fessional Womens club of Gunnison. ' Miss Malmgren will receive a gold medal. |
