Show j LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Beck, Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Mortenson and Mrs. Newman Beck, are at Salt Lake for a week's visit with relatives and friends. Moyle Rasmussen, a student at Snow college, Ephraim, spent Sunday and Monday visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rasmussen. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Borg motored to Richfield Sunday and spent the day visiting with relatives. J. E. Rasmussen, of Ephraim, was in Gunnison Monday visiting with his brother, Chas. Rasmussen, and looking after business matters. Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen entertained entertain-ed at a 6 o'clock Sunday dinner, cele-! cele-! brating the birthday anniversary of I her daughter, Miss Ruby Christian-I Christian-I sen. A hot dinner was served and covers were laid for twelve guests. Following the dinner games were played until a late hour. D. H. Whittenburg motored to Cedar Ce-dar City early Monday morning, returning re-turning the same evening. He accompanied accom-panied .V. A. Malmsten to Cedar City, the latter being enroute to his home in Southern California, after spending spend-ing a fortnight in Gunnison and Richfield. Rich-field. Judge N. J. Bates of Richfield, was a brief visitor to Gunnison the early days of the week. Mrs. B. A, Madsen charmingly entertained en-tertained members of the Treas Jouli bridge club Thursday evening of last week. Progressive bridge was enjoyed until four, at which time a dainty luncheon was served to sixteen guests. Prize winners at cards were Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Mrs. J. E. ifftcalf. Mr. and Mrs. Freeland Jensen returned re-turned to their home at Stockton, Calif., Monday. They were called here on account of the illness of Mrs. Anton An-ton Jensen, mother to Mr. Jensen. w Mr. and Mrs. Horace Home and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln ' Crane and children, of Salina, visited for a few hours Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Swain. Mrs. Leo D. Bardsley of this city, and Mrs. Royal Whitlock and Mrs. Newman Beck of Centerfield, were visitors at the sessions held at Snow college Saturday afternoon of last week. Mrs. Edd. Jensen delightfully entertained enter-tained for twenty-four lady friends at her home Thursday evening of last ' week. Hot turkey dinner was served I at 7:00, after which bridge was the ' pastime, with honors going to Mrs. 'J. B. Roper and Mrs. J. E. Metcalf, j respectively. Decorations were in ! keeping with the season and the arrangement ar-rangement of the conventional red and I white gave off a pleasing effect. " |
