Show THE MINES LOOK FORWARD. The metal mining industry looks forward with more optimism than for some time. j It believes that the depression which has held it in leash for several sev-eral years, is slowly, but surely, being be-ing conquered. Many properties are being placed in readiness for increased increas-ed activity when the proper time comes. I In the meantime, the nation owes its mines, as an essential basic industry, in-dustry, a certain obligation. It owes them a fair tax policy that will not force further retrenchment. It owes them legislative policies that will encourage en-courage and not hamper them not only now but after the depression is over. When good times return, we will make tremendous demands upon our mines. |
