Show Local Educators At Snow College Meet If intended recommendations to be submitted by the committee of investigation, inves-tigation, appointed by the house of representatives and the senate, and jomposed ef nine legislators, are ae-opUd ae-opUd by he state lawmakers, reten-.ion reten-.ion of Snow college is practically assured, as-sured, according to local citizens who attended the meeting and banquet held at the college Saturday afternoon after-noon of last week. The main meeting was held in the spacious auditorium of the college, and was in. charge of Conrad Frisch-knecht, Frisch-knecht, acting chairman, and representatives repre-sentatives from Sanpete county. Several Sev-eral of the visiting lawmakers gave aneouraging addresses and local civic leaders took part in the discussion. Favorable comments were voiced by all the speakers and the impression that the committee would make a favorable fav-orable report to the house and senate was also expressed. Governor Henry H. Blood, who recommended that all branch colleges be closed next year as an economic measure in curtailing state expenditures, expendi-tures, was unable to be present, but the visiting party gained some firsthand first-hand knowledge as to the working of he institution and the necessity of its continuation. Leo D. Bardsley, principal of the Gunnison Valley high school, Royal Whitlock, instructor in the "Lincoln school at Centerfield, and Newman Back, school board member from South Sanpete, were present at the meeting Saturday. |
