Mr. Brown, one of the coun-' coun-' ty's leading flockmasters, reports the desert grazing lands in very poor con- dition. He is moving his herds to the j winter ranges, however, with, the i hopes that relief will soon come in the way of moisture. Mrs. Varney Thompson motored to Salina Wednesday and spent the day visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herbert. Miss Hoist is a relative of Mrs. George Francis, and the visitor is a guest at the Francis home. Ray Erikson has returned from a visit to Salt Lake. Ray, while in the ( city, registered as a student at the . University and immediately after the I holidays he will take up his social work at the state school. Mrs. Orville Hansen, of the Pumpkin Pump-kin Shell, and Marie Gledhill, motored motor-ed to Salt Lake Tuesday. They will remain untill the week-end combining combin-ing business with pleasure. Members of the Gunnison Business and Professional Women's club will hold the regular monthly luncheon at the Wistaria cafe tonight. In addition addi-tion to an interesting program, business busi-ness matters will be cared for at the meeting. Advices received from Salt Lake this week are to the effect that Mrs. Prof, and Mrs. G. F. Christensen, and children, who were the house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. Leon Larsen for. several days, returned re-turned to their home at Magna, Tuesday. Tues-day. I l Carl Erikson, resident engineer in charge of the government road project near Elsinore and Sevier, was visit-) visit-) ing with Mrs. Erikson here last Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. Erikson 'reports splendid progression on the new highway. j I. N. Parker, former owner of the salt deposits at Redmond, and who spent the entire summer at Fishlake, ' was a brief visitor to Gunnison Mon-1 Mon-1 day. Tuesday he left for Salt Lake, having been called there on important impor-tant business matters. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Peterson spent I several days at Salt Lake this week visiting with friends. J. S. Bastian, who was seriously ill some two weeks ago, is gradually improving and relatives are highly en-I en-I couraged over the prospects for a j complete recovery. Mrs. Bastian is a resident of this city and she has hosts of friends who will be glad to hear of the changed conditions. j Miss Rosie Johnson entertained for twelve friends Sunday afternoon, the ; occasion being the celebration of her (birthday anniversary. Games, songs and playing occupied the time until 'about five o'clock, when a dainty lun- i cheon was served. |
