Show I LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST i Mr. and Mrs. Howard Norman motored mo-tored to Richfield Saturday evening. They were combining business with pleasure. Miss Theone Christensen, who spent a couple of weeks visiting with friends and relatives at Provo, returned re-turned home Saturday evening. June Metcalf, J. S. Peterson, Mac Peterson and Grover Jensen were among the fight fans attending the Dempsey exhibition fights at Salt Lake Monday evening. Mrs. Elgin Bouvang delightfully entertained for members of the G. T. club at her home in Centerfield . Mr. and Mrs. Guy Simmonsen of Salt Lake, are here and are the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gribble, parents of Mrs. Simmonsen. Sim-monsen. J. W. Paxman, one of Southern Utah's largest wheat growers, and who threshed several hundred bushels of wheat at his Round Valley farm, was in Gunnison Tuesday looking after af-ter business matters. Mrs. J. B. Roper entertained members mem-bers of the Treas Jouli club at a bridge and luncheon party at her home Thursday afternoon. Luncheon was served at one-thirty for 16, fol- lowing which a lively game of bridge i was played, j James Doherty, formerly chief electrician elec-trician at the sugar factory, and Mrs. Doherty, were here from Scipio Tuesday Tues-day and were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hart Sanders at Spearmint. Mr. Doherty is now associated with the state road commission as supervisor super-visor in bridge building. Mrs. George Francis was a charming charm-ing hostess to members of the Bonne Foi club Wednesday afternoon of last week. During the needlecraft hour an interesting reading was given by Mrs. J. A. Hagan. At four-thirty a delicious deli-cious luncheon was served by Mrs. Francis, who was assisted by her daughters, Misses Trilma and Blanche Francis. |
