Show , erylhing that is noble and uplifting in the Russian experiment so they say. , Yet it is plain to any citizen who j reads the newspaper that the rulers ; at Moscow have violated about all the . national and international ethics as-; as-; sociatcd with fair dealing. No soon-! soon-! cr had Great Britain recognized the reds than a campaign was put under ; way to undermine the British govern-; govern-; ment and put something of the Moscow Mos-cow type in its place. As another example ex-ample of soviet "fair dealing" we may mention the program of pacifism and 'disarmament which the communists are pushing forwawrd in every country coun-try but Russia. The other nations of the world ought to disarm, but Russia Rus-sia must have the biggest military i establishment in the world, for "defensive" "def-ensive" purposes. And in this respect res-pect the word "defensive" is made to include a general and world-wide war on capitalism. The double dealing has not all been with European nations. Nor are I we alarmed over any imminent danger of the communists' gaining appreciable apprecia-ble headway in this country. "Our purpose, however, is to give public expression to the overwhelming overwhelm-ing American sentiment against re-cognit-'on of a regime whose colossa1 impudence in coming into this country coun-try and working openly for the overthrow over-throw of our government at the very time it is seeking loans and credits as well as political recognition is an offense to one's patriotism and a challenge to our national intelligence." COMMUNIST "FAIR PLAY." A lot of self-styled liberals in -the United States profess to see something some-thing wrong with our system of gov-. ernment and at the same time ex-' press admiration of the Russian system, sys-tem, advocating at the same time the American recognition of Russia and closer political relations with the reds at Moscow. It is a little difficult to follow the reasoning of these communist com-munist sympathizers. They find ev- |
