Show TOMIM NORXOXS. Their Voting Strength 1,800 They Could Control Stale Elections. There are about 1,800 Mormon voters in the new state of Wyoming. Should these votes go solid, they could elect either state ticket. But they are nearly equally divided. This ia how the Revieiv, a brave little paper of Rock Springs, takes down a neighboring paper which at- j tempted to slur at the Mormon vote: We consider our friend, the Mountaineer, a little off, if it means that the Mormon vote is at the dis- : posal of the leaders of the church. I The Mormon people are as free to I vote, according to what they think ; is right, as are the members of any 1 other church or denomination. They cannot be dumbly driven to the polls by the church authorities and made to vote at their dictation, nor do we believe that such a course is ever attempted by the leaders of the church. |
