Show ALMOST A FATALITY. A Lady and Her Babe Nearly Smothered By a Night Lamp. There is no use talking; these small night lamps are dangerous. What almost proved a fatal illustration illus-tration of their bad qualities occurred oc-curred in Brigham City lust Fir-day Fir-day night. At the usual hour, Mrs. C. C. Valentine, with a little babe of a few months old in her arms, retired for the night, leaving a small night lamp burning on a table near by. About four o'clock next morning Mrs. Valentine awoke; the room was literally black with a thick, dark, stilling smoke. The little lamp was blazing blaz-ing up and smoking like a locomotive. locomo-tive. The lady awoke just in time to save herself and babe from suffocation. suffo-cation. This ought to prove a lesson to people who are in the I habit of burning night lamps. |
