Show local Educator At Richfield Meeting Leo D. Bardsley, principal of Uv; Gunnison Valley high school, and who attended the regional conference of officers of the local school teacher3 associations in the seven school districts dis-tricts of southeastern Utah at Richfield Rich-field last Saturday, had a prominent position on the program. Prircipal Bardsley, during the afternoon session, . headed the problems of teachers' welfare, wel-fare, and his talk was extensive. v-ering v-ering many of the perplexities 'hat confront teachers. North Sanpete, South Sanpete, Sevier, Sev-ier, Wayne and Garfield districts were represented. Representatives from the Piute and Kane county districts were absent. Utah Education association officials who spoke included E. E. Greenwood of Midvale, president of the Utah Education association; D. W. Parratt, executive secretary of the U. E. A.; Fred C. Strate, Provo, chairman of the state teachers' association committee commit-tee on teachers' welfare; Roy C. Met-calf, Met-calf, Ogden, chairman of the state committee on local associations. James M. Peterson, Richfield banker, bank-er, spoke at the morning session concerning con-cerning the responsibilities of the schools. He was followed by President Presi-dent Greenwood, who explained in detail de-tail the responsibilities of the teachers teach-ers toward the schools and students. Mr. Parratt urged the benefits of tho Teachers' Credit unions now being organized. The meeting is the last of the five regional conference in the state end was the annual mooting of tesw.hcru of the region. |
