Show Victim of Accident Is Making Recovery A. J. Thompson, familiarly known in Gunnison where he has been addressed ad-dressed as "Varney," is making a splendid recovery at his home in Ogden, Og-den, following treatment at the Dee hospital, where he was taken after being seriously injured. These advices were received here Tuesday by relatives rela-tives and the news that the former resident is now out of danger will be welcomed by his hosts of Gunnison friends. Mr. Thompson had been in the employ em-ploy of the Community Service organization, or-ganization, and with other workmen was in the act of razing a building. A tall chimney collapsed and Thompson, Thomp-son, in the wake of the falling debris, was buried in the mess. He sustained a fractured bone in the neck, besides being horribly bruised and cut about the body. For a time his life hung by a string, but by careful nursing and the attention of expert medical men, he has made a gallant fight and his complete recovery is assured, unless unforseen complications arise. Mr. Thompson, son of Chris. Thompson of this city, was born in Gunnison. For many years he was employed at the Gunnison Sugar company and prior to his leaving for Ogden, he was engaged in the restaurant res-taurant business. |
