Show G.V.H.S. Basketball Boys In Fine Mettle Pre-season basketball games, in which the 'Bulldogs"of Gunnison Valley Val-ley high school are making a splendid splen-did showing, are taking the boards of football and plans are being outlined out-lined for an exceedingly busy season. Saturday, delegations from here, Cen-terfield Cen-terfield and Mayfield, will go to Richfield Rich-field where officers of Region 4, of the Sanpete division, will take instructions in-structions to qualify as officials to take part in the league schedule, which is to be announced later. Coach Payton Alexander of the Gunnison high school, L. D. Bardsley, principal princi-pal of the school, L. Bogh of May-field, May-field, Luris Allen of Gunnison and Edgar Nielson of Centerfield, will attend at-tend the parley to be held at Richfield Rich-field Saturday afternoon. Manti,' Eph-raim, Eph-raim, Moroni and the two schools at Mt. Pleasant, Wasatch academy and North Sanpete high school, will also be represented at Richfield. Gunnison "Bulldogs" are getting ; in some fine practice work in preseason pre-season games and are working out in 1 f'ne shape. Saturday evening they played with the Wolverines at Sal-ina, Sal-ina, taking a victory by a score of 15-16. The game was a fast one and only through clever work did Gunnison Gunni-son put over the victory. Saturday evening the locals will enagage the Richfield quint in a game at the high school auditorium. On the 17th Gunnison will play Richfield Rich-field at Richfield. Spanish Fork, boasting of a . "crack" basketball team, will play at Gunnison. This game promises to be a "whirlwind," as the Utah county lads are classed with the fast ones. |
