Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. Vance Peterson and the Misses Delia and Ilene Peterson, came in from their coast home at San Francisco Saturday morning and are guesl.s of relatives and friends at C'enterfield. The Petersons expect to be here two weeks or more on a vacation va-cation trip. Dalton came down from Sandy last Friday and were week-end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Q. Myrup at Center-field. Center-field. Mr. and Mrs. Sherial Huffaker of Magna, and who were just returning from a trip to Bryce canyon, stopped over in Gunnison and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnson. Saturday morning the visitors visit-ors were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Johnson John-son and the party went to Delta to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Johnson. John-son. Mrs. Norman Johnson was hostess to sixteen guests at her home Friday afternoon, when she celebrated her birthday anniversary. Progressive bridge was the enjoyable pastime of the afternoon and in the contest for honors first prize was won by Mrs. ) Sanford Anderson, while the second was captured by Mrs. Wesley Duggins. Dug-gins. Mrs. Johnson served a dainty luncheon to her guests at five o'clock. Vern Fairbanks, sheriff of Sevier county, was an official visitor to Gunnison Saturday. v Mr. and Mrs. Mac Peterson and children were here for a few days the first of the week and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B". Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willardson and Mrs. June Metcalf and children were dinner guests of relatives at Ephraim Monday evening. Mrs. Lillian Keyser left for Salt Lake Monday, where she will visit : several days with relatives. ! j Mrs. D. B. Saunders and children, i who spent the past two weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Metcalf, Met-calf, parents of Mrs. Saunders, left for their home at Ellensburg, Wash., Monday. Friday afternoon of last week, Mrs. June Metcalf entertained at a family dinner party, complimentary to Mrs. , D. B. Saunders and family, who were here from Ellensburg, Wash. j Mr. and Mrs. Hans E. .Borg and children, who had been visiting with relatives at Richfield, stopped over in Gunnison Saturday night and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Borg. The visitors continued their journey to Bozeman, Mont., their present home. I I Miss Lead King, who served as a ! missionary companion to Miss La-! La-! Vyrle Larson, is here for an indefinite indefin-ite visit with Miss Larson. I Mr. and Mrs. Tom Madsen and son, Tom, Jr., of Salt Lake City, visited over the July fourth holiday period at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Hagan. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon K. Madsen of Bingham, returned to their home Thursday of last week after visiting for a few days with relatives and friends in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seick of Her-mosa Her-mosa Beach, Calif., visited during the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Madsen. Ernest Halverson, the insurance writer, and daughter, Miss Norma Halverson, were here from their home at Provo Monday and Tuesday. While in Gunnison they were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Metcalf. Mrs. N. W. Anderson and son of Mt. Pleasant, were here Tuesday, having hav-ing been called by the death of Mrs. Anderson's mother, Mrs. Louisa Johnson. John-son. On their return trip they were accompanied by Uhlan Swalberg. Miss Beulah Metcalf and Miss Irene A. lhnendinger joined a party of friends at Richfield Tuesday and enjoyed a sw'mming party at the Richfield nata-torium. nata-torium. Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Hughes, who ipent a week at the home of Mrs. Ida B. Nielson and C. C. Nielson, have returned to their home at Salt Lake City. Harold and Dorris Hughes, who accompanied their parents here, are remaining for a month or more at the Nielson home in Centerfield. Bishop and Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen Christian-sen and Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Henrie returned re-turned from Salt Lake City Tuesday. They had spent the day combining business with pleasure at the capital city. Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen entertained entertain-ed at dinner at her home Monday for esveral friends and out-of-town guests. Mrs. C. A. Fredrickson of Salt Lake, Miss Aleda Jensen of Ephraim, and C. Taylor of Salt Lake, were seated with the guests. Mr. and Mrs. M. Deangelis and daughters, Lola and Lajuana, and Miss Marjorie Babcock, who visited for a few days at the F. H. Bath home, returned re-turned to their home at Castlegate Friday of last week. They were accompanied ac-companied by Harry Bath of this city, who will visit relatives at Castlegate for a few weeks. Waldo Villard, who has been acting as nightwatchman for Gunnison for a year or more, has handed in his resignation resig-nation and in about ten days he will leave for Yuba, Ariz. Later Mr. Villard Vil-lard will go to the Navajo reservation, where he will aid in building a telephone tele-phone line. Mrs. Villard will remain here for the present. |
