Show Start Enthusiasm ' For County fair i l ; Enthusiasm marked the April meeting meet-ing of the county fair directors held in Manti last Saturday, and a good j representation of the directors were i in attendance. A. U. Miner, director from Fairview, expressed himself as ; considering the county fair as the biggest and most important effort I being made-in the county to encourage : the industries and agriculture. Mr. j Miner's expression is similar to those : which have been made on different occasions by the other directors and indicates the enthusiasm manifested j by these men living in other parts of the county. Considerable business was transacted transact-ed at; the meeting. The board decided that it would be a good thing to hold the meetings of the board in various parts of the county, and accordingly the May meeting "has been set for the first Saturday of that month at Mt. Pleasant. The board is very anxious to have the cooperation and suggestions sugges-tions from everyone and have therefore there-fore extended an invitation to anyone who desires to attend the meetings of the board and offer any suggestion which they may have. The invitation of the management of the Utah State fair that local representatives rep-resentatives of the county fair, to-I to-I gether with the Sanpete county com-j com-j missioners,, meet with the state fair I officials this week, was accepted, and ! President W. D. Bentley and Manager ! Brown went to the capital city Wednesday. Wed-nesday. For the purpose of starting a cam-! cam-! paign on the sale of season tickets for the county fair, it is proposed to offer tickets; to members of the Bee Hive i Girls and Boy Scouts. All boys and l girls belonging to either of these or-I or-I ganizations selling tickets to the value ! of three dollars will be awarded a j season ticket to the fair this fall. |
