Show Mapping of New Air Mail Route Boise, Idaho. Captain Armin F. Herold, air officer of the 104th division organized reserves of Salt Lake, left Wednesday morning in his DeHavi-land DeHavi-land plane for Elko, Nevada, to map the contract air mail route from that place through Boise to Pasco, Wash. Herold is accompanied by Franklin Rose, one of the air mail pilots, who will assist in the selectoin of emergency emergen-cy landing fields along the route. Captain Herold landed his big plane on the new Boise airport late Monday, the field being near enough completed to take care of the big ship. Work on surfacing and leveling the airport is being pushed so the service over the mail route can begin on April 6th. Plans for the local celebration to be staged when the air mail service starts include a parade, pageant,' carnival car-nival and dances in addition to the usual form of ceremonies at the airport. air-port. A number of army and government govern-ment air mail planes are expected here for the celebration. |
