Show Heavy Rainfall Throughout Valley Farmers, stockmen, beet growers, business men and all are wearing the smile of happiness as a result of the heavy rain that visited the valley Monday and Tuesday of this week. The rain was one of the heaviest and proved of the highest -value of any that has visited this section for nearly near-ly two years. Starting about nine o'clock Monday night the rain came slow and was not accompanied with a down pour. Most of Monday night and practically all day Tuesday and late Tuesday night the ram came steadily and mother earth was thoroughly thoro-ughly soaked. It is estimated that more than an inch of rain fell, and any doubts of a water shortage, if there were anay, were set aside. Not only was the rainfall heavy in the valley but it is estimated that about an inch of snow was planted in the east hills, the watersheds of the Gunnison valley. Reports from the north end of the county, in Sevier county and points west and north, are to the effect that the storm was general. The bect-growers, bect-growers, especially, will be immensely immense-ly benefitted and the land which has ' been prepared will be planted immediately im-mediately and every indication now points to one of the biggest crops known for several years. |
