Show Fire Does Damage At Christenburg Fire which caused Fergus Bjerre-gaard Bjerre-gaard of Christenburg, a loss of nearly $300 broke out in the wash house owned by the latter, about nine o'clock last Monday morning and only for the heroic work of neighbors the residence of Mr. Bjerregaard would have been destroyed. A fire had been started in the wash house preparatory for the wer,SJy washing wash-ing and while members of the family were absent it is presumed the stove became overheated and set fire to the building. The washing, a cream separator and a trunk full of valuable valu-able clothes, together with the washing wash-ing machine and many other articles stored in the building were burned. The fire was located within twelve feet of the residence and it required some fierce fighting to save the homo. No insurance was carried. |
