Show . Orin ami Clco Lund, sons of Royal Luiul of Salt Lake are here to spend the summer with their grand parents Mr. and Mrs. Niels L. Lund. Mrs. G. W. Funk from Salt Lake is here for a visit with he parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles" II. Embley. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Marx and Miss Carrol Marx of Sterling made a short j visit here with Mrs. Dcllie Anderson. Dividend. Mr. Christiansen will re-j main home for a while and do some, woik here, the others have returned to their work. Merrill Woolsey of Salt Lake spent' the fourth with his wife who is visiting visit-ing here witn her parents Mr. and Mrs. Soren Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Lund are spending a few weeks in Salt Lake where Mr. Lund is taking a special course in pedagogue at the U. of U. Daniel Beck motored to Salt Lake where he spent the fourth and "returned Monday with ,Mrs. Beck and their two children who have been visiting in the capitol city for ten days. j Mr. and Mrs. James G. Doherty I took in Bryce and Cedar break on the I 4th and spent one night at Cedar City. D. R. Goates and family spent their .holiday vacation at Lehi returning to his work at the factory Monday ' morninir. ' Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lund have Returned Re-turned to their home in Salt Lake after spending a week here with his parents Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Lund. Mrs. N. L. Lund's father, J. P. Carlsen and her sister, Mrs. P. H. Hansen of Mayfield and another' sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Lester Day and husband of Castle Gate spent the 4th here with Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Lund. -I CENTERFIELD I -1 ; !- Notwithstanding that a nice rain fell on the "Fourth" the Defense day exercises were carried out in full; even to the sports in the afternoon. The beautiful sunshine following tha .ain dried the ground on the public jc'hool for the occasion. Worthy of special mention in the program was the beautiful Goddess Miss Ramona Sorensen escorted by exceptionally appropriate 'maids, Misses Zelma Hansen (dark) in red and Norma Christiansen (blond) in olue. The speech so ably delivered by the Goddess revealed the fact that Centerfield is not lacking in talent. Also the response given in such a clear spirited manner by Charles E. Embley and the patriotic oration by Joseph A. Larson sent a thrill of admiration ad-miration for the occasion to all present. pres-ent. . Among 'those who came home to (seend the Fourth was James Henry Christiansen from working at Salt Lake, Chris Poulsen from Saldura, and John Nicholi Christensen from |
