Show Ambitious Road Program for All National Par1 The United States Department . the Interior announces an ambitious program for development of highways In 17 national parks of the United States and Alaska. An appropriation of $7,500,000 has been authorised, of which $2,500,000 are now available, which will be distributed and used In the various parks, Including Glacier National park in Montana ; Yosemlte National park, California; Mount Rainier National park, Washington Crater Lake National park, Oregon ; Sequoia National park, Arizona ; Rocky Mountain National park, Colorado Colo-rado ; Yellowstone In Montana, Wyoming Wyom-ing and Idaho ; Hawaii National park ; Mount McKinley National park, Alaska Alas-ka ; Lassen National park in California Califor-nia ; Hot Springs National park in Arkansas; Ar-kansas; Lafayette National park In Maine ; Mesa Verde National park In Colorado ; Piatt National park In Oklahoma Ok-lahoma ; Wind Cave National park In South Dakota, and Pinnacles National monument in California. Among the Improvements to be made are the following: A complete trans-mountain trans-mountain road across Glacier National park ; paving In the Yosemite ; bridges for Mount Rainier; completion of the Fall River road in Rocky Mountain park to an elevation of 11,797 feet. Yelowstone National . park receives only a small allotment for the reason that it has 356 miles of completed excellent ex-cellent roads. |
