Show Dave Whittenburg Joins Benedicts D. H. Whittenburg, a member of : the Gunnison Lions Club, agriculturist agricultur-ist for the Gunnison Sugar company and well and popularly known in Sanpete San-pete and Sevier counties, staged a big and complete surprise on his many friends when he, accompanied by his bride to be, motored to Kanab August 3rd, and was married. If anyone any-one knew of the plans of the couple it was held as the deep secret and it was not until the return of Mr. and Mrs. Whittenburg from a brief honeymoon hon-eymoon trip, to the Grand canyon that the real facts were made known. The bride, formerly Miss Lela Ivie, the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Ivie of Richfield, is well and popularly known in her native city of Richfield. She attended the schools of Richfield and was one , of the leaders in the younger social j set. She has a wide circle of friends wherever she is known and she is I gifted and most popular. ! "Whitty", as he is familiarly known 1 to his hosts of friends, has been in the emplope of the Gunnison Sugar company for the past two years or more as agriculturist. He was a charter char-ter member of the Gunnison Lions club and served the first year efficiently effi-ciently as secretary of the organization. organiza-tion. He is a real ' booster" and his hosts of friends, while throughly surprised sur-prised at the announcement of his marriage, will extend the hand to he and Mrs. Whittenburg and wish them happiness and contentment on their matrimonial voyage. Mr. and Mrs. Whittenburg will make Gunnison their home and expect ex-pect to remove here about the first of September. |
