Show Local Farm Bureau Favors Market Plan One of the largest gatherings of farmers interested in the betterment of general farm conditions, met at the Kinema theatre, at Centerfield, last evening and heard discussions favoring the organization of a Beet Growers association. When the proposed pro-posed plans had been submitted and thoroughly discussed those present favored the organization of a unit and to this end a meeting has been called at Salina for Saturday night at which time the association will be effected and plans made to incorporate, incorpor-ate, in keeping with the plans sent out by the state farm bureau officers. J. A. Christensen, vice-president of the Sevier County Farm bureau, and who attended the beet growers convention con-vention held at Salt Lake the early part of this month, gave an exhaustive exhaust-ive review of the convention and explained ex-plained the advantages for the beet growers in the organization of the association. Many others gave expressions ex-pressions and when a final vote was taken practically everyone present favored the movement. Geo. B. Cox, president of the Sanpete San-pete County Farm Bureau, strongly advocated the organization, also gave a splendid talk favoring the association associa-tion and urged every beet grower to get squarely back of the movement. Next Saturday evening there is to be a meeting at Salina and at that time the association is to be regularly regular-ly organized. Officers will be chosen and plans made for incorporating. It has been planned for those going from Gunnison to meet at the City hall at 6:30 and those who have autos for transportation are asked to notify noti-fy the local farm bureau officers. |
