Show Utah Newspapers Warmly Praised At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Utah Public Health Association held Friday, Senator Le-Roy Le-Roy Dixon of Provo introduced a resolution tendering the thanks and appreciation of the association to the newspapers of Utah for the valuable and generous co-operation given by them in the Christmas Seal Sale. The resolution was unanimously adopted, and is as follows: "WHEREAS, the representative men and women in every community in the state answered the call of the Christmas Seal Sale and gave of their time and energies in pushing the sale in every possible manner, making purchases themselves and inducing in-ducing others to do likewise; therefore there-fore be it "RESOLVED, that the Executive Committee of the Utah Public Health Association extends to each chairman, chair-man, and all the members of their committees and district workers, its hearty thanks for their splendid cooperation. co-operation. "That the committee further extends ex-tends its thanks to all fraternal, civic, civ-ic, patriotic, and social clubs and organizations or-ganizations for their enthusiastic response and splendid spirit shown toward the sale and the cause for which it stands. ..S "That the committee further extends ex-tends its thanks to all boards of education, edu-cation, all school superintendents, principals, teachers, nurses and school children, for the loyal and valuable support given." The report of James H. Wallis, executive secretary, on the Christmas Seal Sale, was read, showing1 the state had exceeded its quota of last year by fully 25 per cent, and would possibly pass the 25,000.00 mark, as compared with the $19,400.00 raised last year. Secretary Wallis was highly commended com-mended for his untiring efforts and efficient work and the committee I unanimously adopted a resolution ex-pressing ex-pressing confidence in the integrity and ability in the management of i the affairs of the association. j |
