Show Gunnison May Get Cheese Factory "Gunnison Valley offers a splendid splen-did opening for a cheese factory and we are looking over the field with a view to establishing one here. We are reaching out in the state and are planning on establishing several factories." fac-tories." Thus spoke N. P.. Ricks, vice-president of the Nelson-Ricks company of Salt Lake to a News representative rep-resentative Tuesday of this week. Mr. Ricks was accompanied by C.. M. Hansen, the company's cream representative rep-resentative in the state. Continuing Mr. Ricks stated that Gunnison Valley was an ideal location loca-tion for a cheese factory. The field is wide, said the visitor, and eventually eventu-ally a splendid business could be built. From a standpoint of benefit bene-fit to the farmers it would open a field for the sale of milk and dairy products, something lacking in this valley heretofore. The operation of a cheese factory would mean the ready sale of all the milk produced and the opening of a cheese factory would mean another pay-roll maker for the valley, and with the distribution distribu-tion of milk checks every two weeks the monetary question involved would prove a boon to farmers and those who would engage in the dairy business. busi-ness. Nothing definite was given out by Mr. Ricks as to the final decision. However, the matter is to be seriously serious-ly considered and in the event a factory fac-tory is established here, the old creamery building would be used, if terms could be made, and a complete and new outfit of cheese-making machinery installed. The proposition is one to be considered con-sidered seriously by the valley farmers farm-ers and everyone interested in the growth and development and those who would profit by the installation installa-tion of a cheese factory, should get squarely back of the plan and boost on every turn. |
