Show 1 Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Nielson, who spent the past summer at Manti, have removed to Gunnison for the winter. Bishop II. C. Olstn was among the fishermen to visit Fishlake last week. He enjoyed a great deal of sport, and while the fishing was poor, he man-i man-i aged, as he always does, to bring home plenty for himself and friends. Henry Christensen, superintendent superinten-dent of the mechanical department of the News, attended the funeral of Mrs. Francis Anderson, held at the College City Monday afternoon of this week. Mrs. H. W. Cherry delightfully entertained en-tertained at a birthday dinner party at her home Monday evening of this week. The occasion was the celebra- tion of the anniversary of Miss Lucile I Modeen and the editor of the News. No ages are given. At six thirty an elaborate turkey dinner together with all the fixins', was served. .Covers were laid for nine. Mrs. G. D. Peery, local school nurse, left for Provo last Saturday. She will be absent a week or more and will take a special course in health studies under Mrs. H. Mum-ford, Mum-ford, health supervisor of the Provo schools. Dr. and Mrs. T. M. Aldous entertained enter-tained a dinner party at their home Monday evening of this week. Covers Cov-ers were laid for eight guests. Bishop and Mrs. Leslie Kidman g-ave a dinner party at their home Sunday afternoon. Twelve guests were present and a most delightful time was enjoyed. 1 Clyde Edmonds, secretary for the Utah Poultry Producers association, motored to Gunnison from Salt Lake yesterday. Mr. Edmonds is on a trip in the interests of his company and before returning to his borne he will visit several of the towns in Sevier county. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Childs, who left for Hiawatha last Sunday, returned to Gunnison yesterday. Francis, their daughter, was taken seriously ill, and the latter was brought here for treatment. -i LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Thompson and Mrs. Fletcher Peterson spent Sunday at Salina as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herbert. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hansen of Salina, Sal-ina, and P. F. Peterson of Richfield, were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Peterson last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Swalberg of Marysvale, were here for a few days last week visiting with relatives and friends. Miss Trilma Francis gave a dinner party Monday evening complimentary compliment-ary to Miss Mabel Larson. A social time was enjoyed and at midnight dainty refreshments were served la ten guests. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Madsen were travelers to Salt Lake yesterday morning. Mr. Madsen, while in the city, will have his arm examined. It will be remembered that Mr. Madsen recently underwent a severe operation opera-tion by having a portion of the bone removed from his left arm. The examination ex-amination at this time is to determine deter-mine whether there is any further infection. Chas. Rasmussen, H. P. Jensen and C. E. Ferre, of this city, and Ruel Anderson of Ephraim, spent a few days at Fishlake last week. They returned re-turned home Saturday and were not empty handed, a splendid catch being made. Mrs. John A. Sprott, who was called call-ed here from Grand Junction to attend at-tend the funeral of William Titcomb, her brother-in-law, returned to her "lome the first of the week. Jack Jones and Niel Sorenson went to Fishlake yesterday. They will spend a few days at the resort angling angl-ing for fish and today they will seek the festive duck. |
