Show Saturday Chosen For Clean-Up Day All out for clean-up day Next Satu.day has been set aside as clean-up day for Gunnison, according ac-cording to announcement mak. by Mayor Parley Christiansen. This is m the day that every patriotic citizen who has pride in his home town and his own home will cast aside all other duties ami devole the day in getting rid of the accumulation of debris, ashes, tin cans and other unsightly things and make everything shine with cleanliness. No general program has been made and no special districts have been designated for team work but the appeal to make the town and homes clean and beautiful has been " sent out and a hearty response is asked by the city officials. In years gone by Gunnison citizens have resnonded quickly to the call and the result has been a growing fascination fascina-tion for a cleaner and healthier city. This year should see tho work more thorough and move extensive, and if this is accomplished Gunnison will be known far and near as the city beautiful. beau-tiful. Somewhere in your back van there is a pile of tin cans, a pile of un-sifrht.lv un-sifrht.lv ashes, paper and other material ma-terial that has accumulated during the winter months. Get rid of it. The lawns, too, are riddled with leaves and weeds. Get rid of them. Extend the woVk to the walks in front of the homes and make them attractive bv removing the rubbish. Care for the hog pens, corrals and other "flv" nests and prevent disease and invite health to your homes. The main thoroughfare is anything but inviting. This, however, is to be cared for bv the citizens and city officials, of-ficials, and sometime Saturday get busv and banish all unsightly and unhealthy conditions. |
