Show 'jLST GET TOGETHER il The story of the two mules who would not get-to-ge;her and work together, but would ba;k and cause no end of trouble, weli I applies to Gunnison and the Gunnison valley. A man, unlike the mules and wiih a disposition and ambition to create a better feeling feel-ing among all. and who would have unity throughout the entire valley, val-ley, well expressed the condition when he stated that leaders must unite. It is really a deplorable situation for the reason that the citizenry of one of the greatest and most promising Valleys in the entire state of Uth, is divided as it is. Cooperation and a feeling for the other man must result if satisfaction predominates. The rebellious re-bellious attitude of some, backed by others, is only making the breach wider and wider and until this breach is broken, the valley will lag along as it has for many years past and the objectives of the live, progressive people will fail. Criticisms have been freely offered during the past week for the attitude of some one in staging the old folks party last week when the two wards, Hamilton and Centerfield went together in honoring the old folks. While the affair was a huge success and due homage was paid the honored guests, there crept into the heart? of some a feeling of discord for the reason that the Gunnison Axtell and Clarion wards were not included. It would be an easv matter to makei the annual affair a general reunion and include all of the wards of the valley. The gathering together of all of the old-timers old-timers of the valley, at one place for rejoicing and celebrating and entertaining, would work marvels. The personal contact would result in driving away the petty animosities and we would know our neighbor better. Next year when we of the valley are to pay respect to the old folks, let it be at once place and at one time and all join in making it a consolidation of respect and let it be a real "get-to-gether" meeting. |
