Show School Children Are Inocculated More than 200 students from the grade school and the high school, as well as several adults, availed themselves them-selves of the opportunity Tuesday and took the first inocculation of antitoxin anti-toxin for immunization against diphtheria. diph-theria. Drs. Hagan and Aldous, assisted by Mrs. G. D. Peery, school nurse, and Mrs. Ray Metcalf, and with the operating ope-rating room fully equipped, handled the many cases without any mishap, the children having little fear of the process applied, marching to the operating place like so many soldiers. There was some disappointment due to the lack of sufficient toxin. A requisition re-quisition had been placed for the three applications, but through some error only enough for the first application was received. More of the toxin has been ordered and will be here for the next treatment, which will be administered admin-istered at the city hall next Monday.. The third treatment will be given Monday, May 17th. Next Monday the students and those of the adults of Centerfield, will be cared for. Th ee j treatments are necessary to make one I absolutely immune from the dread I disease, diphtheria, and according to j scientists, the three treatments will i last a life time. |
