Show Centerfield Man Named Patrolman A reorganization of Sanpete county's coun-ty's road control was effected last Saturday when officials and citizens from all parts of the county were : present at a meeting held at Mt. i Pleasant. The office of state road j agent was abolished and A. A. Beck of Centerfield was appointed as road patrolman covering the district between be-tween Redmond on the south and to Manti on the main highway, and from Gunnison to the Juab county line on the Gunnison-Levan secondary state highway. Ross ' Thompson of Sterling Sterl-ing will have charge of the district about Sterling. Edgar Larson will look after the highways entering Manti, and Edwin Larson, who has been caring for the Gunnison-Levan highway, will be retained. R. J. Garn, acting district engineer, of Richfield, was present at the meeting meet-ing and gave some logical advice on road maintenance. , One of the important im-portant features stressed was the fact- that road men are to be on the job at all times. It is planned to keep the highways in good condition at all times and through the new policy many thousands of dollars will be saved annually in the district. J. M. Knighton, R. J. Fjeldsted, A. A. Beck and Joe Willardson represented represent-ed Gunnison and Centerfield at the meeting. During the session other business matters were taken up and the local representatives succeeded in having Gunnison named as the meeting meet-ing place for the Democratic county convention to be held early in the coming fall. |
