Show Deputy Governor Visits Local Lions A. 0. Treganza, deputy district gov-pernor gov-pernor of the Lions clubs of the twenty .eighth district, was the special guest of the Guunison Lions club at a luncheon at the Hotel Gunnison Tuesday Tues-day of this week. Nearly 100 per cent membership of the local club i was present to greet Mr. Treganza i and the talks along Lionism activities throughout the district proved of great interest. Mr. Treganza was on his annual trip of investigation and his visits included Mt. Pleasant, j Ephrain, Gunnison and Salina, ' Pay-son Pay-son and other clubs of the state. President J. W. Jones presided at the meeting and after minor business matters of local interest had been closed Mr. Treganza gave the members mem-bers a splndid talk. In opening his address Mr. Treganza dwelt at length on the coming district convention which is to be held at Mt. Pleasant some time in May. "Mt. Pleasant is planning on a big time," said the speaker, " and an unusually large attendance ., is expected. Lionism is taking a firm stand throughout the entire district for a bigger and better Utah and with the growth of ihe club by the addition of new organizations organ-izations your sister city is to be asked and all are going to lend every aid possible to the Mt. Pleasant Lions to make the. May meeting one long to be remembered. Back them up in every way and by this you will be doing much for your part of the state.' Mr. Treganza urged the local club to greater, activity and asked jth,e members to keep the good work going that had been started. He praised the Gunnison club for its progressive-ness progressive-ness in attendance and cooperation. He also asked that ;selfishness be laid aside and. that the members should not only do big things in its own organization, but give every help possible to any other civic organization organiza-tion that is endeavoring to upbuild your community. "Lions are famed for doing big things," continued the speaker" and the idea in to start something good and see to it that it goes over with completeness. Name good . active committees ,and set that ' committee to work. If that committee fails to get results, or fails to fuction, remove them and replace them with a live bunch. Select one or two good projects and stay with Viem until all has been accomplished and the job; complete to its fullest. Too many projects working at once is poor policy. One good movement put over successfully is the aim : of Lionism." ' ... President Jones gave an exhaustive report of the work done so far on the road projects, which proved gratifying to those , present. Other matters -of local interest were briefly discussed and with three "roars" for the visiting visit-ing deputy governor the meeting was brought to a close. Mr. Treganza left for Salina Tuesday jjifternoon and during the evening he held an enthusiastic en-thusiastic meeting with members of of the Salina Lions Club. INTEREST EPHRAMITES F. M.
