Show Graduating Class Largest In Nistory The fifty-sixth annual commencement commence-ment of the University of Utah will be observed June 6 to 9 on the University Uni-versity Campus. With a total of 473 applicants this year, the class will be the largest ever graduated from the State institution, the number num-ber of applicants being greater than the total college enrollment for the school year 1905-6. Of the applications applica-tions received, 330 were for bachelor's bache-lor's degrees and the remainder for cetificates. The schedule for commencement is June 6, reunion of the class of 1875 and all students prior to that date June 7, Baccalaureate Sermon; June 8, Senior Class day and Alumni day, with the following special events: President's reception, Phi, Kappa Phi initiation, annual exercises of Phi Kappa Phi, inspection of the University Univer-sity buildings and gronuds, class reunions re-unions and senior class day exercises June 9 will be commencement day, starting with more class reunions, followed by an open air band concert, con-cert, the procession of the regents, faculty, and graduating class, commencement com-mencement exercises, Alumni business busi-ness meeting and the Alumni banquet ban-quet which will be followed by a reception. re-ception. The Right Reverend Joseph Jos-eph S. Glass, bishop of the Salt Lake diocese " of the Catholic Church will deliver the baccalaureate sermon, and Dr. John Sundwall, Professor of Health and Hygene at the University of Michigan will deliver the com-'mencement com-'mencement address. Plans has been laid for the annual ilumni gathering which takes place at this time to welcome the graduating graduat-ing class into the Alumni Association The features of this year's activities aside from the regular business are the commemorating of the close of the seventy-fifth year of the University Univer-sity and the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the first class to receive re-ceive Certificates of Graduation from j the old Universtiy of Desert, the ! class of '75. |
