Show SOW IS THE TIM. An exchange very appropriately says: This is the time of the year Ihf1 merchants ought to advertise, lie should make it a point to advertise ad-vertise when trade is slack. It is not when he is rushed to death that an advertisement in the home paper docs him the most good, but it is when trade has fallen off, that an advertisement judiciously placed, brings him the best returns. A successful merchant does not advertise spasmodically, but keeps everlastingly at it, from one y'ear to another. He advertises his goods and wares profusely and carefully, and thereby catches the eyes of the citizens who in return give him their trade. The public like to trade with a merchant who is making a success in his busi-' ness, and an indication that he is successful is his everlasting advertising ad-vertising from year to year in his home paper. The merchants who will try this method for one year will never have cause to regret it. |
